Harry Potter Party

I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan. When I found out that the next Harry Potter movie would be out in July I immediately called my Mom and started arranging a party. (I mean how often do adults get to have a party? Kids have theme birthday parties, but lets face it, adults don't want to celebrate getting older.) So. . . this was the perfect opportunity to have a party. I haven't blogged much lately because I have been consumed in planning a Harry Potter party. I know I am a total nerd, but it was a blast.

Here is the invitation. I used my stove to burn all the paper to make it looked aged. I almost burned my kitchen down.

This is what I found when I got to my parent's house on Thursday afternoon. My Dad (with my Mom's help) hung 80-90 candles with fish line from the ceiling in their big room (aka: The Great Hall) with the extremely high ceiling. It was AMAZING! Leave it to my Dad to really make the thing spectacular with details like this. (He's an artist. . . he has an eye for detail.)

Everyone was assigned a character to dress up as. Upon arrival the guests collected their wands, name tags, and stickers to identify the house they belong to. (I made 32 wands our of dowels covered in brown salt clay. However, to dry them I would set them outside in the sun. . . they looked like long poops sitting on cookie sheets.)

We played "Hogwarts a History Trivia", match the spells, & "Transfigurations playdough pictionary". Then for those who were interested we went to the new movie all dressed up. Prof. Trawlaney even got up in front of the crowded theater and announced the future of the group would be to view Harry Potter the Half Blood Prince. WOW! What a night to remember.

Futbol....GO BEES!

Kimball was on his first soccer team this year and had a great time. His team was "The Bees."

He is a bit smaller than a lot of the other kids on the team, but just as aggressive and quick. The first few games he was the best goalie on the team, until one time the ball didn't get down his direction for about 10 minutes and he got a little bored.

Mostly he was so excited to get a trophy at the end of the season (and to share his snacks each game with his little sis)

DIlly-Dally

Dad: Kimball, Hurry and go change into your soccer clothes so we won't be late. Mom should be home from errands any minute. I don't know why it is taking her so long, but she should be home any time.

Kimball: Dad, you know what is taking so long?

Dad: No, what?

Kimball: She is dilly-dallying.

Photography Class

I had so many people interested in the tips that my friend, Amelia, gave our photography class I thought I would share.
