Futbol....GO BEES!

Kimball was on his first soccer team this year and had a great time. His team was "The Bees."

He is a bit smaller than a lot of the other kids on the team, but just as aggressive and quick. The first few games he was the best goalie on the team, until one time the ball didn't get down his direction for about 10 minutes and he got a little bored.

Mostly he was so excited to get a trophy at the end of the season (and to share his snacks each game with his little sis)

DIlly-Dally

Dad: Kimball, Hurry and go change into your soccer clothes so we won't be late. Mom should be home from errands any minute. I don't know why it is taking her so long, but she should be home any time.

Kimball: Dad, you know what is taking so long?

Dad: No, what?

Kimball: She is dilly-dallying.

Photography Class

I had so many people interested in the tips that my friend, Amelia, gave our photography class I thought I would share. Then Amelia put all the notes on our enrichment blog. . . . including all the example photos that she used. (Amelia you are amazing!!!) So here is the link to get to the notes. Our second class is tonight, I can hardly wait.

Just Brag'n

A couple of weeks ago my friend, Amelia (also my 2nd counselor), did a photography class for an enrichment group. It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot. For Father's Day I wanted to take the kids to a studio and get their pictures done. Then I had this great idea to take them myself with my new found knowledge, and Amelia's help. This is the end result. What do you think?

For Father's Day I ended up making a collage of pictures on Costco.com. They look AMAZING! I'm not going to a studio again.

Thanks Amelia, I couldn't have done it without you!

Vacation

Andrew ended up taking the rest of his vacation days for the year all last week. We ended up going to Idaho to go camping. The following 6 posts are all about our trip. We had a great time and jammed in a much fun as we could into our trip. We enjoyed camping, seeing the waterfalls, swimming, hanging out with family and friends. We are also glad now to be home to have a vacation from our vacation.
Who knew it was so much work to have fun?

Horse Shoe Lake

We went camping for 3 days at Horse Shoe Lake.

We had a great time despite the not so sunny weather.

Picture of the Lake

Hazel was so dirty by the time we got home to have a bath.

In this picture only her face was dirty. It was taken very early in the morning so her clothes were still clean.

Kimball's fish

The release of Kimball's fish

Hazel and I found a salamander while Kimball and Andrew were fishing. She was afraid that it would bite her. Kimball didn't hesitate to pick it up when he came back in from the water.

Kimball had this great idea to go swimming in the lake. The water was freezing, but both kids didn't care and ended up playing at least for a few minutes in the cold water with their life jackets on.

Jake was funny, we got a few good laughs out of taking him with us. When we first got there he was balancing on a rock at the edge of the lake, then he just jumped right in. It was a laugh to see him go for a swim for the first time. The mosquitoes were a bit of a confusion for him too. We kept laughing at him trying to eat the mosquitoes as they would fly around his head. He wanted to go on the raft so bad with Andrew and the kids that at one point he jumped in the water and swam after them for a long time. So here is a picture of when we were finally able to convince Jack to stay on the raft with Andrew to go fishing.

I can't stand all the buzzing, lets get out of here!

Ultimately the mosquitoes drove us crazy and we decided to leave a day early.

Cave Falls

Mosquites

The mosquitoes were so bad camping that we were practically carried away. The mosquitoes were swarming our window as we drove up in the truck, they could smell us coming. We were really good to keep on mosquito spray the whole time. However, our last night we didn't get all the mosquitoes killed before going to sleep. Poor Kimball got eaten alive. I've never seen so many mosquito bites!!! I counted 9 in his hair as I ran my hands over his head, but I couldn't even begin to count how many he had on his forehead, to say 20-30 is not exaggerating.

The pictures don't really show the amount of bites the poor guy had. He looks like he has Chicken Pox now that they are no longer swollen and just little red dots.

Mesa Falls

We took a little side trip to Mesa Falls after we were finished camping. Isn't it beautiful!

I have been very upset about our visit to Mesa Falls, I lost my sunglasses. I think I left them in the visitor center/gift shop. There is no phone number to Mesa Falls so I couldn't even call to see if that is where I left them. They were Coach sunglasses and I LOVED them. :(
